Local capture only works while Windows, the bridge, TradingView (inside the app), and MT5 are up. If you want TradingView to MT5 24/5, put that stack on a Windows VPS near the broker — not on a laptop that sleeps.
What to rent
- OS: Windows Server 2019/2022 or Windows 10/11. Not Ubuntu. Not Mac.
- RAM/CPU: enough for MT4/MT5 + Edge WebView2 + the bridge. 2 vCPU / 4 GB is a tight minimum; 8 GB is more comfortable if you run several terminals.
- Region: same city/region as the broker when you can. The bridge is local; the remaining delay is broker execution.
- RDP: you will log in with Remote Desktop to install and to glance at alerts. Leave the session running or use a method that does not kill apps on disconnect (provider-specific).
Install checklist
- Install MT5 (and MT4 if you need it) from the broker; log into demo first.
- Install Edge WebView2 Runtime if Windows Server does not have it.
- Install TradingView Bridge, then the EA from Settings → MetaTrader EA installer.
- Attach the expert, enable Algo Trading / AutoTrading.
- Sign in to TradingView in the bridge, recreate the alerts you care about (they live on that TradingView session).
- Map symbols (GOLD / suffixes).
- Fire one test alert; confirm a fill.
- Turn off Windows sleep, disk sleep, and “turn off display” that might suspend the VM.
Keep it alive
- Reboots: put the bridge and MT5 in Startup, or a simple scheduled task at login.
- TradingView session: if the embedded window logs you out, alerts stop. Check after provider maintenance.
- Weekend: markets closed is fine; confirm everything is green Sunday before the open.
- Single vs Multi: one account → $99 Single; several terminals on that VPS → $149 Multi.
What not to do
- Do not use a Linux or Mac VPS with this product.
- Do not run the bridge at home and MT5 on the VPS — the queue is on one machine.
- Do not assume RDP disconnect is the same as “apps keep running” on every host; test it.
